Red Light Therapy
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Red light therapy is considered very safe when used as directed. It uses natural, non-ionising light (not UV), so it won’t burn or damage your DNA like tanning beds or sunburn can. Most people tolerate it very well with minimal risk of side effects.
Yes. For best results, start with clean skin. Makeup, sunscreen or heavy lotions can block some of the light. After your session, you can apply your usual skincare products.
Most treatments last 20-30 minutes, depending on the area being treated and the device settings. Sessions are short, relaxing, and completely non-invasive.
For most people, 2–4 times per week is ideal in the beginning. Once you see results, you can reduce to a maintenance routine (e.g., once or twice per week). Consistency is more important than intensity.
No. You may feel a gentle warmth on your skin, but it shouldn’t feel hot or uncomfortable. If it does, we stop the session and check the power timing. For conditions like eczema/psoriasis we generally start on red light only at 50% strength to avoid overheating the skin then gradually increase power and introduce near-infrared wavelengths.
If you are pregnant, have epilepsy, eye conditions, or a history of cancer, please check with your healthcare provider before starting red light therapy. If you take medications that make your skin sensitive to light, consult your doctor first.
We recommend wearing protective goggles provided and avoiding direct eye contact with the lights. It’s safe to have the light near your face, but don’t stare directly at it for long periods.
